Dilettante's Diary: the internal dialogue of a hedonist bluestocking.

I am a dilettante. I know quite a bit about a lot of things, but I don't know enough to be an expert on anything. I have a very sensual, hedonistic nature, but I am also a thinker, and I aim one day to be worthy of the label 'bluestocking', despite its pejorative connotations.

This is my journal, which, delightfully enough, doesn't have to go wherever I go, but is accessible from nearly everywhere I am.

On being 'open'

He: You attract me on many levels.

Me: I do??

He: Your intelligence did right from the beginning.

Me: I thought it was my kinkiness.

He: Yes. It is refreshing and exciting.
He: But your openness is attractive too.

Me: People think I'm so 'open'. What they don't realize is I don't have any more room to hide things.

He: And here I thought it was because you had nothing to hide (Not!)

Me: Naw. I talk openly about things most people conceal because the things I have to hide would blow your mind. Its a form of sleight-of-hand. Distract you with something titillating, and maybe it will distract you from the substance.

He: Substance?

Me: The substance of who I am. Kelly light and dark. Especially dark.

He: I would like to understand that about you.

Me: No. You just think you do.

He: Nice of you to tell me what I think, Kel.

Me: Ouch. You're right. Sorry sweets.
