Dilettante's Diary: the internal dialogue of a hedonist bluestocking.

I am a dilettante. I know quite a bit about a lot of things, but I don't know enough to be an expert on anything. I have a very sensual, hedonistic nature, but I am also a thinker, and I aim one day to be worthy of the label 'bluestocking', despite its pejorative connotations.

This is my journal, which, delightfully enough, doesn't have to go wherever I go, but is accessible from nearly everywhere I am.

What is a dreamer

What is a dreamer? Oscar Wilde said: "A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world." A fitting description for some few people I know, the dreamers, the ones with the poet's souls.

And with regards to dreaming, I once told Michael "Fundamentally I am one of those cosmic dreamer types, but I try to keep myself grounded in reality." He said something in response which has echoed in my mind: "Dreaming is what it takes to discover what we have no reference for."

Here's to more dreams for the dreamer.
