Dilettante's Diary: the internal dialogue of a hedonist bluestocking.

I am a dilettante. I know quite a bit about a lot of things, but I don't know enough to be an expert on anything. I have a very sensual, hedonistic nature, but I am also a thinker, and I aim one day to be worthy of the label 'bluestocking', despite its pejorative connotations.

This is my journal, which, delightfully enough, doesn't have to go wherever I go, but is accessible from nearly everywhere I am.

Monday, monday

Work was no fun. Michelle is on vacation and Joan's mother-in-law died, so she is out for a week, as well, leaving me in charge. When the cats are away the mice will play, and of course my department started getting boisterous. I finally commented to them that if they had time to chatter then they must have time to help the other department that was short-staffed. You could have heard a pin drop. It was quiet for the rest of the day.

I spent much of the day onf the phone with a CPA firm, trying to iron something out for a mutual client so they don't owe penalty and interest to the IRS. They'll probably still owe the interest, but the penalty can be abated, should it come.

When I got home, I had feedback from Literotica. It seems two more short stories were approved and posted, and some people really liked them, especially "Attention, please!". Pretty cool. People always tell me I can write, and I know I can, but its rather interesting to get feedback from absolute strangers about the writing and the content. I'm putting my rich fantasty life to use. Heh.

I'm sipping a nice golden Chardonnay and listening to Etta James right now. She had such an amazing voice. I expect to have a productive day gardening tomorrow, as it might be cooler. I've moved one flower bed and will move one more before laying stone to create a little courtyard. It will be very fragrant, with the lavender, fennel, rosemary and lemon verbena nearby.
