Dilettante's Diary: the internal dialogue of a hedonist bluestocking.

I am a dilettante. I know quite a bit about a lot of things, but I don't know enough to be an expert on anything. I have a very sensual, hedonistic nature, but I am also a thinker, and I aim one day to be worthy of the label 'bluestocking', despite its pejorative connotations.

This is my journal, which, delightfully enough, doesn't have to go wherever I go, but is accessible from nearly everywhere I am.

Stas and Michael

Stas is in Calcutta, lucky him. It amazes me sometimes, how much he manages to get done in one week: he found out from his company that he had to go there on March 8th, and he left Amsterdam on March 15th. He arranged travel, hotel and visa in that period, and somehow managed to complile an analysis of a dozen different digital cameras that meet my minimum requirements and his standards. On the 11th, I found a .pdf file in my email, with photos, links to reviews, a brief synopsis of desired features, as well as pros and cons. It was very thoughtful of him, and it has helped a lot. I've narrowed it down to 4 cameras, 3 of which I have handled, and one of which I really like--Its an Olympus, not too small, not too large, with a nice 2.5" LCD screen about the size of the one on the Mavica that Stephanie is taking with her to Europe next month.

I had a really nice conversation with Michael last night...its the first time in a long time that we didn't argue, get pissy with, hurt, or otherwise react negatively to things the other was saying. It reminded me of all the reasons why we became friends in the first place, and why we really should just push through the rough patch that has sprung up. We really enjoy each other.

I find it interesting that I have chosen to write about the two of them in the same journal entry. It must be that they are rather alike.
