Matt is getting married!
My god! I just got the best news so far this month: Matt is getting married! Wheeee! He found his Lisa and they have survived their first year together, a challenge, because, for all his wonderful qualities, Matt is as moody as a woman. I knew he would find someone, once he found a way to be comfortable in his own skin--I just expected it to take him longer.
18 months ago he was an unsettled seeker, delving the dark roads...but Lisa has grounded him in a way I've never known him to be. He is certain that she is THE ONE. And his certainty is very convincing. After an of hour talking I finally brought up my reservations--Is Lisa enough of a sub? Yes, she is a natural. Can she be a dom when he needs it? Yes. Does she enjoy being dom? Yes. Excellent. She is Catholic, and spiritual about it--can he deal with it? Yes, he respects that aspect of her very much. Is she aware that, while she may be THE WOMAN for him, she will never be the only woman--that he will 'stray'? Matt is far too alpha, far too social, to be happy dominating just one woman. *grin* His response: Yes, they have discussed the likelihood that he may want to bring others into their relationship at a later time, and she's agreed to be willing to discuss it should the situation arise. Very wise of him.
Its funny...We've been friends for, hmm, 12 years, the last 10 of which have been casual contact. But the first 2, my god, we were so connected I knew what he was feeling even when I was 500 miles away. The connection is different--or perhaps not different, just faded--but its still there. And that makes me very happy in a way I can't find words for.
