Dilettante's Diary: the internal dialogue of a hedonist bluestocking.

I am a dilettante. I know quite a bit about a lot of things, but I don't know enough to be an expert on anything. I have a very sensual, hedonistic nature, but I am also a thinker, and I aim one day to be worthy of the label 'bluestocking', despite its pejorative connotations.

This is my journal, which, delightfully enough, doesn't have to go wherever I go, but is accessible from nearly everywhere I am.

On the Anniversary of September 11th (poem)

I think too much
and I only share the tidbits,
the non-sensical, disjointed tidbits
that seem to concern those who care
but never quite allow them in there
So excuse my mind,
my feelings,
and the rest,
today is the day, I find,
my thoughts are put to the test
my melancholy ramblings
my sighs of distress
have been building erratically toward
this time of remembrance
And when this is over I'll do my best
to hold my voice at bay
to keep those tidbits in line
to suck it up, girl-friend,
remember the heroes
at ground zero
and pour some more wine
Yes, pour some more wine
