Dilettante's Diary: the internal dialogue of a hedonist bluestocking.

I am a dilettante. I know quite a bit about a lot of things, but I don't know enough to be an expert on anything. I have a very sensual, hedonistic nature, but I am also a thinker, and I aim one day to be worthy of the label 'bluestocking', despite its pejorative connotations.

This is my journal, which, delightfully enough, doesn't have to go wherever I go, but is accessible from nearly everywhere I am.

Birthday Boy

For Scott's birthday dinner we decided on Moroccan food. A 5-course meal that was 100% finger food. The only utensil we used was the spoon we ate the almond pudding with. Scott sat between Stephanie and me and we fed him some lamb and chicken with almonds, raisins, and honeyed apricots. The ambiance at the Marrakesh is always wonderful, and this time there was a special treat. Japanese eye-candy in the corner nearest us. The three of us definately watched that corner of the room, and we all watched them walk out. Afterwards, we agreed on which one had the best ass.

He'll be heading to Japan for a bikenjutsu seminar and then visiting friends there for a couple of weeks. Lucky him. I am going to envy him the japanese hot springs resorts, myself. But, I've trained him to be a good sybarite, so I expect he will take lots of pictures and tell me all about it in sensuous detail when he gets back at the end of the month. The nice thing about having good friends is that we don't have to experience everything for ourselves... we get to live life vicariously through each other.

Lovely meal, great wine, wonderful company. Happy 28th birthday, Scott.
