This week in review
Tammy had her surgery on Tuesday. They went in through her back, found what was wrong, fixed it, closed her back up. In addition to the defective sphincter on the bile duct, she has some ulcers on her pancreas, her stomach, and her intestine. Not surprising. As of yesterday she was feeling much improved, though still having difficulty keeping food down. That will come in time.
This week has been gorgeous. Absolutely glorious. Clear blue, blue skies, no humidity. Everything is blooiming and green. The rivers are still a bit high, but nothing like they were in January and February, with the flooding. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I worked until 7pm, so by Friday I was exhausted. But I still went out on the boat with KK and DH.
Of course, "boat" is not quite right. Its a 40ft yacht. Lovely. I took lots of pictures from it, but I just realized that I forgot to take pictures of the outside. We were parked at the yacht club on the Columbia, drinking lemon drops and nibbling on fruit and veggies. We watch the sunset and the full moon rise. We grilled steaks and then had a final round of lemon drops in blue illuminated glasses, becasue by then it was nearly 10pm and dark out. Then we went inside the cabin and watched "The Sweetest Thing."
When we bedded down for the night, and all was silent, it was interesting how not silent things were. The boat rocked and creaked, the bilge pump circulated, the nocturnal birds cried, and the waves slapped the sides. I fell asleep thinking about Jonah and the Whale... imagining that I was in the belly of the whale and the noises I heard were the grumbling of its belly. It was an oddly comforting thought, somehow.
I woke up at 5:30am and watched the sunrise. Spied a blue heron fishing for his breakfast. It was peaceful and quiet and so very lovely. I took some photos of course. I went back to skeep at about 6:30. Slept until 8:30, and waited for KK and DH to start moving around.
We had a breakfast of grapes and strawberries and cinnamon buns and then about 10am I left. So much to get done. I ran errands until nearly 5pm, said hello to some friends online, went to bed and masturbated, slept for three hours, and then did some work for the new business.Things are coming along.
